Title Insurance

Morton and Gettys' subsidiary, Moffatt Title Insurance, provides comprehensive service and representation in certifying titles, advising clients regarding title and insurability issues; negotiate necessary and required project-specific title insurance coverage; and provide title counsel and representation in national and multi-state deals involving South Carolina property or collateral.

NOTE: In South Carolina, only attorneys licensed to practice in the State can conduct commercial or residential closings. Title companies cannot conduct closings as in other states, unless closely supervised by a licensed attorney. Accordingly, it is common in South Carolina for law firms to own and manage title agencies. Through a subsidiary of the firm, Moffatt Title Insurance, Inc., we provide title insurance to our clients through two of the nation's most respected title insurers, Chicago Title Insurance Company and Fidelity National Title Insurance Company.
